Historic Miners Huts

DESCRIPTION

A 4WD is required to access all Palmerville Historic Huts.

The Cannibal Creek camp grounds and historic Miners Huts are located on a historic mine site, with miners huts left behind from the 1950s. What better way to experience gold fields than in a historic miners hut.

A few modern conveniences have been added to these two-bedroom huts, including minibar with fridge and basic air-conditioning. 

The historic Miners Huts located high on Hut Hill, are a short stroll to all campground amenities including- laundry service, toilets, hot water showers and the all important wi-fi and potable water.

Also, close by are all the facilities that the station has to offer, our Reception at the Camp Office hut and soon, the Outback Shed.

Your Miners Hut booking Includes 4 Gold Fossicking Consent Permit's.

Conditions for Access to Season Pass Area

For stays of more than 2 nights in the Miners Hut, the hut occupants will be permitted to explore and fossick in the exclusive 'Season Pass Area' as marked on the season pass areas map for the duration of their hut stay.

For contractural reasons with a mining company, this access does not permit access through 'Franks Gate' in the general area as this requires an induction to cross a  mining lease.

Apart from the environmental work our Western Yalanji Rangers do, we are constantly exploring and developing new areas of interest across our incredible property, ensuring our guests have an incredible time  discovering at Palmerville.

For all of these reasons, visitors need to purchase a gold fossicking consent permit which is included in the camping fee if they are staying with us.

This must be displayed at all times during your visit to Palmerville.

The funds from the permits are used to help support the Western Yalanji Ranger base and helps us create signage and information boards and, most importantly, protect Palmerville Station's unique and precious ecosystems.

The permits also go toward track and trail maintenance, weed and pest eradication, fire management and development of new tourism areas.

# All guest must  hold a Queensland State Government Gold Fossicking Licence. These licences are available online from $12.92 for a family pass for a month.

Palmerville Camp Site - Un-powered  

DESCRIPTION

A 4WD is required to access all Palmerville camping sites.

We have 60 un-powered Sites located at the Palmerville Camp Ground, our main camping area.

The un-powered Sites are a short stroll to all Campground amenities including, laundry service, toilets, hot water showers and the all important wifi.

Also, close by are all the facilities that the Station has to offer, our Reception at the Camp Office hut and soon, the Outback Shed.

Our Sites vary in size and shade, however, they are lawned for most of the year.

Private Palmer Riverside Camping

DESCRIPTION

A 4WD is required to access all Palmerville Private Riverside Camping sites.

Enjoy the natural peace of one of the 30 private riverside sites situated further along the Palmerville River, yet close to the heart of Palmerville. They are approximately 25 to 40 minutes' drive from the Palmerville Camp Ground facilities, which are available for use by all campers.

The size of sites, shade and access to tracks . Please note that the private sites are not suitable for swimming or for caravans, as they don't have a large enough turning area, and many of the driveways are 4WD.

As you will be located outside of the usual gold fossicking area and located in the 'season pass holders fossicking area', while you are paying for the premium location, you will have access to the areas bounded by

Whites Creek road to Your south, by Sandy Creek to the West, along the Southern side of the Palmer River to the Dog Leg Creek Crossing Road.

Enjoy the natural peace of one of the 10 private Lake side and Dam side sites situated further along is the Big Barra Dam, yet still close to the heart of Palmerville Camp Grounds. Approximately 5 to 10 minutes' drive from the Palmerville Camp Ground facilities, which are available for use by all campers.

A 4WD is required to access all Palmerville Dog Leg Creek Crossing - Camping sites.

Enjoy the natural peace of one of the 10 Dog Leg Creek un-powered self contained sites situated at the Dog Leg Creek Crossing of the Palmerville River, yet close to the heart of Palmerville.

They are approximately 25 to 40 minutes' drive from the Palmerville Camp Ground facilities, which are available for use by all campers.
